QUICKSIDE SPC4 CURTAINSIDER BODY BY STEINBAUER

Fast-opening curtainsider body for light commercial vehicles with integrated pillars, designed for frequent loading and unloading. The QuickSide system opens or closes the entire side within seconds, reduces operator effort and increases productivity in everyday operation.

FASTER LOADING FOR EVERYDAY OPERATIONS

The QuickSide system uses a pre-tensioned curtain with integrated aluminium pillars mounted in bearings. Robust locking levers allow the entire side to be opened or closed in approximately 5 seconds with minimal operating force.

The perfectly tensioned curtain reduces aerodynamic noise and drag while driving. The optimized design also minimizes body weight, helping to preserve the vehicle’s maximum payload.

ENGINEERED FOR MAXIMUM PERFORMANCE

The QuickSide SPC4 curtainsider body combines fast operation, robust construction and low weight. It is ideal for applications with frequent loading and unloading, where every minute saved improves vehicle efficiency.

The reference demo body measures 4,300 × 2,170 × 2,200 mm and weighs approximately 400 kg. Dimensions, frame design and body mounting are customized to the selected chassis model and customer requirements.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT THE QUICKSIDE BODY

The entire side can be opened or closed in approximately 4 seconds. The integrated pillars remain connected to the curtain, eliminating the need to remove them individually.

Unlike a conventional sliding curtain, QuickSide uses a pre-tensioned curtain with integrated aluminium pillars mounted in bearings. The entire side opens within seconds, and the pillars do not need to be removed and stored individually.

It is particularly suitable for delivery vehicles and operations with frequent side loading and unloading. Fast opening reduces vehicle downtime.

Dimensions and construction are adapted to the specific chassis. The reference demo body measures 4,300 × 2,170 × 2,200 mm and weighs approximately 400 kg.

Strapholder is a roof-integrated system for storing load-securing straps. During loading, it keeps the straps ready for use and then retracts them back towards the roof.

We primarily use stainless-steel fasteners, aluminium or stainless-steel components, and high-strength fasteners with enhanced corrosion protection.

Standard equipment includes the QuickSide system, frame structure, anti-slip floor, underrun protection, front and rear panels, lashing points, marker lights, spoilers and safety markings.

Options include Strapholders, LED lighting, toolboxes, steps, rear aluminium doors, reflective markings, custom graphics and protective treatment of the vehicle chassis frame.

Yes. The frame design, body dimensions, TPV and mounting are engineered for the specific chassis model, including electric vehicles.

The body is certified and approved by TÜV SÜD. The exact scope of approval depends on the selected chassis and configuration.

BODY DESIGN AND EQUIPMENT

From engineering and component production to final assembly and approval, we manage the entire process in-house. This enables us to respond quickly, maintain consistent quality and create solutions precisely tailored to customer needs. We take pride in products that combine quality, functionality and smart engineering.

1. QuickSide sliding sides
A pre-tensioned curtain with integrated aluminium pillars spaced approximately 0.5 to 0.7 m apart enables the entire side to open quickly. The pillars remain part of the curtain, so they do not need to be removed and stored separately during loading.

2. Frame structure and floor
The body features a robust frame structure, including frame extension where required by the vehicle length. The cargo area is fitted with a bonded and screwed anti-slip F/W birch multiplex floor.

3. End panels and long-load transport
The standard configuration includes a fixed 590 mm front panel and a rear curtain panel with direct tensioners and securing straps. For transporting long loads, the rear can be equipped with removable aluminium planks.

4. Load securing and safety
Lashing points are integrated into the floor frame. Load-capacity information and cargo-securing instructions are provided inside the cargo area. The rear curtain features stainless-steel locking eyelets for rolling it up and securing it safely.

5. Strapholder system
The optional Strapholder keeps load-securing straps ready during loading and retracts them back towards the roof after use. It significantly improves productivity, reduces the need to enter the cargo area, lowers the risk of injury and does not reduce usable cargo space.

6. Optional equipment
The body can be equipped with options such as LED cargo-area lighting, toolboxes, retractable steps, rear aluminium doors, an additional reversing light, reflective markings, or custom graphics on the curtain and cab.
