FOAM INSERTS & INTERIORS

Foam fixations for cases, crates and industrial packaging.

PRECISE FIXATION FOR EVERY PRODUCT

At STEINBAUER, we develop and manufacture custom-made foam inserts, fixations and complete case and crate interiors. We process polyurethane and polyethylene technical foams – laminated, extruded and cross-linked. From prototype to serial production, we select the material and technology according to the shape, weight, sensitivity and manner of use of the packed product.

FROM DESIGN TO SERIAL PRODUCTION

We combine several foam processing technologies under one roof. We weld the individual layers automatically, die-cut, cut on plotters and mill on CNC machines. This allows us to produce simple fillings as well as complex three-dimensional fixations with high precision and repeatability.

We design the foam interior as a functional part of the entire packaging. Correctly chosen foam and fixation geometry help limit the movement of the product, dampen shocks and vibrations and, at the same time, create a clear and professional arrangement of the components in the case, crate or transport packaging.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT FOAM INSERTS

Yes. We design every fixation according to the geometry, weight, sensitivity and handling of the specific product. We manufacture simple inserts as well as fully customized multi-layer and three-dimensional interiors.

We process polyethylene foams, laminated and extruded foams and cross-linked technical foams, including antistatic versions. We select the specific material and its density according to the required protection, construction and use.

We produce foam inserts for Flight Cases, plastic cases, wooden crates, Clipboxes, special containers, as well as cardboard boxes and other industrial packaging. We adapt the solution to the product and the construction of the specific packaging.

Depending on the geometry and series, we use automated welding, die-cutting, plotter cutting and CNC milling. By combining technologies, we optimise precision, productivity and production costs.

Yes. By welding and precise machining of individual layers, we create three-dimensional foam inserts, beds and interiors precisely adapted to the product. The solution can combine different thicknesses, densities and types of foam.

Yes. We produce individual prototypes, small batches and repeated serial production. For each order, we choose the production technology to match the required quantity, precision and economics of the project.

Yes. We design the complete interior layout, including the position of the product, grip points, separators, lid fillings and other fixation elements. The goal is safe protection combined with fast and intuitive handling.

The ideal input is 3D data, drawings or a physical sample of the product. We also need information about the weight, sensitivity, manner of use, required level of protection and expected quantity.

Yes. Depending on material availability and project requirements, we can work with different types, structures and colour combinations of foams. In addition to its protective function, the interior can thus also support clarity and the professional presentation of the product.

Yes. We supply foam inserts and interiors as part of our packaging solutions or as a stand-alone product for cases, crates and other packaging defined by the customer.

Our production is built on digital data, CNC technologies, automated welding and precisely defined production procedures. This allows us to maintain the geometry and quality of the foam parts in the long term, even in repeated series.

For sensitive, valuable and technically demanding products – from electronics, measuring equipment and tools to industrial components and special devices. We always adapt the design of the fixation to the specific application.

AUTOMATED WELDING – productive manufacturing of multi-layer fixations

We automatically join the individual foam layers into precise three-dimensional inserts. The technology is suitable for repeated production, multi-layer constructions and interiors requiring stable quality and a clean finish.

DIE-CUTTING – an efficient solution for series

We use die-cutting for the productive manufacture of repeating shapes and larger series. A correctly designed die allows the fast production of precise foam parts with very good project economics.

PLOTTER CUTTING – flexibility without complex tooling

Plotter cutting makes it possible to quickly produce precise shapes based on digital data. It is suitable for prototypes, smaller series and projects with frequent geometry changes, and helps shorten the path from design to finished part.

CNC MILLING – maximum precision for complex geometry

We use CNC milling for demanding 2D and 3D geometries, precise beds, pockets and shaped fixations. It allows us to create interiors precisely according to the product and the required level of protection.

Four technologies. One customized solution precisely for your product.

From a simple filling to a complex foam interior.

EVERYTHING UNDER ONE ROOF

From the selection of a suitable material and the design of the fixation through prototyping to automated serial production, we handle the entire process under one roof. This allows us to react quickly, maintain consistent quality and create foam interiors precisely adapted to the product and the packaging.

1. Fixation design
We design the foam interior according to the geometry, weight, sensitivity and manner of use of the product. We address the position of the components, the required material thickness, grip points and the overall ergonomics of the packaging.

  • Polyethylene foams
  • Laminated foams
  • Extruded foams
  • Cross-linked technical foams
  • Polyurethane foams

2. Materials and construction design
Depending on the requirements of the specific project, we combine suitable technical foams and structural solutions:

  • Foam inserts and beds
  • Multi-layer welded inserts
  • Lid and bottom fixations
  • Separators and partitions
  • Complete case and crate interiors
  • Special custom-made versions

3. Automated welding
We automatically join the individual foam layers into stable multi-layer constructions. The technology supports high productivity, a clean finish and good repeatability in serial production.

4. Die-cutting, plotters and CNC
For each part, we choose the optimal technology. Die-cutting brings productivity in series, plotters bring flexibility and speed, and CNC milling brings high precision for complex shapes and customized interiors.

5. Case and crate interiors
We design and manufacture complete foam interiors for Flight Cases, plastic cases, wooden crates and other packaging solutions. The fixation protects the product while creating a clear, professional and ergonomic arrangement.

6. Serial production and logistics
From prototype to repeated series, we keep production under our own control. We supply finished foam inserts separately or as part of a complete packaging solution from STEINBAUER Packaging.

From digital design through foam fixation to the finished interior – everything from one place.
