At STEINBAUER, we develop and manufacture custom-made shipping crates for the defence industry. We adapt the design, materials, internal fixation and surface finish to the specific product, the method of handling and the transport and storage conditions.

Yes. We design every crate according to the dimensions, weight and sensitivity of the component and the required method of handling. From prototype to serial production.

We combine plywood, plastics, certified solid wood, steel elements, technical foams and other materials according to the required strength, service life and operating environment.

Yes. We design and manufacture precise foam fixations. We adapt the foam interior to the geometry of the product and the required protection against shocks and vibrations.

We carry out the surface finish according to the customer’s technical documentation. For projects requiring camouflage shades, it is possible to specify, for example, RAL 6031-F9 Bronze Green, RAL 8027-F9 Leather Brown or RAL 9021-F9 Tar Black.

Yes. Depending on the project, we use PE, VCI or aluminium barrier foils with MIL certification, combined with desiccants or VCI elements.

Yes. We supply handles, latches, hinges, castors, handling elements, steel reinforcements and other equipment according to the manner of use.

Yes. We carry out development, design, CNC machining, production of fixation elements, assembly and final finishing with our own capacities. We then also arrange delivery.

Dimensions, weight, a drawing or 3D data of the product, handling requirements, the operating environment and, where applicable, the customer’s technical specification.

Yes. We provide the crates with technical markings, identification labels, logos, handling symbols and other graphics according to the project documentation.

1. Design
We design the crates for the specific equipment, logistics chain and deployment conditions. We place emphasis on strength, repeatability, easy handling and a long service life.

2. Materials and construction
We select materials according to the load, environment and required level of protection:

3. Construction and strength
We dimension the construction according to the weight of the product, the method of handling, stacking and transport conditions. On request, we work according to the customer’s technical documentation and specifications.

4. Fixation and interiors
We manufacture precise foam interiors according to the shape of the component. For demanding applications, we use, among other things, closed-cell PE foam designed for a high level of protection against shocks and vibrations.

5. Surface finish and marking
We adapt coatings, markings and identification elements to the project. RAL F9 camouflage shades include, for example, RAL 6031-F9, RAL 8027-F9 and RAL 9021-F9.

6. Logistics
We deliver the finished crates with our own transport or through proven logistics partners. We coordinate deliveries according to the project requirements and the place of destination.
